Guide each other by just talking

Telemochi is a free puzzle video game wherein you must work together with a friend to fix your connection. Developed by Jaime Gifte, this cute 2D co-op indie game strictly requires two players using different computers but can be played offline since it uses custom player codes instead of your internet connection. You can use either your keyboard or any gamepad controller you may have. However, it’s highly imperative that you use voice chat to communicate.

Lost but not alone

In Telemochi, you and your friend play as two adorable space explorers who end up separated by landing on the wrong planets. Your objective is to help each other complete tasks by describing locations on the map and coaching each other with the answers on your side. You must earn enough stars and go back to your landing point to fix your communication line. This gameplay is similar to Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and Spaceteam.

There are five avatar characters available. There are also 10 difficulty levels, ranging in map size and number of tasks. Plus, you can choose to have a timer or not. The controls are simple: move around with the WASD or arrow keys, check your map with the Shift or M key, and interact with the environment using Spacebar. The real challenge lies in communicating effectively to solve the puzzles, as your maps have been switched.

Played in a top-down view, this game’s cute doodle art style looks similar to titles like Scribblenauts Unlimited and Drawn to Life. The maps are procedurally generated so no two playthroughs are exactly the same regardless of the difficulty level you choose. However, this game only allows two players—it can’t become a group multiplayer game, unlike other titles. While it’s not as hard to fill the spots, you also can’t play on your own.

Has potential to expand

All in all, Telemochi is a cute two-player game that’s easy to try out since there’s no need for an internet connection on both ends. Not only does it employ co-op puzzle mechanics but it also sports a cute 2D art style that’s easy on the eyes. However, being strictly for two players, it can turn off some players who’d like a little more flexibility on the number of friends they can play together with.
